Obtaining public corporation rights is of great importance to us, as it would enable us to be officially recognised as a religious community in Germany. This would help to further strengthen and expand our community.
Why Bhakti Marga is Applying for Public Law Corporation Status
Bhakti Marga stands for living Hinduism in Germany – authentic, accessible, and rooted in the eternal principles of Sanātana Dharma: Ahimsa (non-violence), Bhakti (devotion to God), and Dharma (righteous living).
To fulfill our spiritual mission in an even more sustainable way, we are applying for official recognition as a Public Law Corporation (Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts).
‘With this status, we can place our spiritual work – from temples to events and programmes – on a firm, legally protected foundation that reflects our values and is supported by a vibrant community.’
A future for the next generations
We are building the structural and legal foundation so your children and grandchildren can grow up with open access to Hindu spirituality – in freedom, dignity, and full recognition.

What this status means for all of us
- Official recognition of our religion. Bhakti Marga will be formally acknowledged as a religious community – on equal terms with other major faiths. This strengthens our voice and fosters public trust in our spiritual work.
- Active contribution to public life. As a Public Law Corporation, Bhakti Marga can contribute to Germany’s spiritual and ethical landscape – through education, chaplaincy, and interfaith dialogue.
- A secure foundation for our spiritual work
